On the 22-26th of August, 130 young people from all over the Baltic Sea region gather again in Mariehamn, Åland, for ReGeneration Week, the annual meeting place in the region, created by youth for young activists and advocates and everyone in between who is concerned about where the climate and our future are heading.

ReGeneration Week, a yearly climate summit held in Mariehamn is the biggest youth sustainability event in the region. At the core of ReGeneration Week is knowledge sharing, solidarity, and youth empowerment, creating a space where groups and individuals from all corners of our region can meet and share experiences, valuable skills, expand their networks and find a large community of like-minded youth.

“People really do matter! When you get to surround yourself with such a kind and diverse group of youth on ReGeneration Week, it's the type of boost all of us need to sustain our spirits to take climate action. Meet people who care and dare to be curious, it's surprisingly fun and fulfilling!” - Lennie Jansson, Vice Chairperson of ReGeneration 2030.

Building a safe future for all

This year’s theme of ReGeneration Week is Safety Beyond Borders. With the uncertainty of what may happen in the future looming over all of our heads, we have decided against sitting idle. We are all too aware of the dangers that climate change and power-grabbing politicians are stirring up. There is no place on our planet that has not suffered from them - and those who have caused the least damage take the brunt of it.

“Our generation is under attack. Democracies are weakening, wars are escalating, and ecosystems are collapsing - leaving us vulnerable on every level. We come together to confront these intersecting crises, fostering hope and resilience among youth in the Baltic Sea region. Through collective action and strategy, we fight for lasting security - for ourselves, our communities, and our environment”  -  Jonas Blendl, Board member of ReGeneration 2030.

Bringing youth input to the parliamentarians of the Baltic Sea region

This year, the participants of ReGeneration Week will also have the opportunity to speak to the politicians and policymakers attending the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC). Additionally, in cooperation with the Parliament of Åland, BSPC and the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), ReGeneration 2030 is honoured to host the Youth Forum prior to the Conference, where the youth policy recommendations will be created and later on presented for the parliamentarians and stakeholders of the Baltic Sea region.

“We are honoured to be hosting our annual intergenerational dialogues together with the BSPC. It’s a moment to bridge the gap between generations and an opportunity that young people very rarely get.” - Alva Danielsson, ReGeneration 2030’s Movement Coordinator.

ReGeneration 2030 is a climate organisation run by the youth of the Nordic and Baltic Sea region coming from diverse backgrounds, all united in a common goal. We want to build youth power in our region and provide each other with the tools to push for a just sustainable transformation by 2030 and a better future for those who will come after us.

Join us for ReGeneration Week 2025 and become part of the change!
