Summit in a new form - we meet online and IRL!
COVID-19 has meant a lot of change for most of us. We can’t do the things we had planned, and we must rethink how we can come together, have meaningful discussions and still, maybe especially during these times, foster the mindset and excitement for change. Welcome to join us in the movement ReGeneration 2030, making the United Nations Agenda 2030 sustainable development goals (SDGs) become reality.
ReGeneration 2030 usually has its summits on Åland Island in August. The purpose of the summit is to give support to young people from the Nordic and the Baltic Sea region who are engaged in UN Sustainability Goals. The summit this year will instead be online and in national hubs, August 20-21.
We still want to ensure that our summit has a regional touch and that you get to meet participants from the whole region*, which will be possible online. At the same time, we also want to make sure you get to meet like-minded people and start acting right away, which is why we have created the physical, local hubs. Finally, it’s possible for you to participate only online. We will organise hubs in cities where we have the capacity, and where there is enough interest from participants. There will also be an opportunity to arrange your own hub, wherever you live**.
The summit will give you a chance to meet likeminded people, learn more about capacity building and participate in workshops regarding different SDGs. There will also be some inspiring cultural events. Our main aim is for you to get the opportunity to start getting involved locally. We want to introduce you to fellow change makers and give you tools, inspiration, and ideas for what could be done in your local context. At the same time, we will connect you with likeminded youth from across the region through online tools so you can learn from each other across borders.
Our main target participants for the digital Summit are young people 15-29 years old of the Nordic and Baltic Sea regions*. We want to create an intergenerational dialogue and therefore we also welcome actors of all ages from the regions. So, no matter your age or background, fill out the form! This year will be a very different kind of Summit compared to what we had imagined. It will be an experiment and we are looking for the young people who are up for this experiment and excited to be part of something new and build momentum for a youth movement in our region. We hope to see you in one of our hubs or online!
